About the artist
Beck Tirado is a Seattle-based ceramic artist and sculptor, whose work incorporates scientific illustration and especially draws on zoology. She has been making ceramics off and on for most of her adult life, but began a more intentional practice in 2024 at Edmonds College. In 2026 she began a career residency at The Clay Corner, where she is currently practicing. Starting this residency ignited a shift in vision. Previously Beck’s interest in zoology was independent of her ceramic practice, but now they have become united, opening up many new opportunities and ideas. She is currently working on both functional ceramics and scientific sculpture, with plans to evolve her practice in both directions.
